NovaSure Endometrial Ablation
Do you suffer from heavy bleeding?
Does your menstrual cycle seem abnormally long or heavy?
Are you afraid of leaking through a pad or tampon?
Have you been diagnosed with anemia from blood loss?
If so, you may have menorrhagia (pronounced: men-o-rahj-ah). Menorrhagia is defined as unusually heavy or long-lasting menstrual periods. It occurs in 1 out of every 5 women. If you believe that you might have excessive menstrual bleeding and are done having children, NovaSure® may be right for you.

NovaSure endometrial ablation is a quick outpatient procedure that gently removes the endometrial lining of the uterus (called the ‘endometrium’) to control bleeding. The endometrial lining of the uterus is shed monthly during your period. Removing the endometrial lining decreases menstrual blood flow, and in many cases stops it completely. The most popular form of endometrial ablation is the NovaSure Procedure, which has demonstrated excellent success.

NovaSure In the Office
Dr. Hanna and Dr. Cushing perform NovaSure Endometrial Ablation in their office under oral or IV sedation. They realize most women prefer the familiar, calm and peaceful atmosphere of the physician’s office as an alternative to the operating room. Their patients experience personal care in a relaxed, familiar and friendly environment, and the procedure takes just a few minutes. There are few side effects, and women generally return to work and other normal activities the next day. Most insurance plans cover the cost of the procedure and you usually pay just an office co-pay.
